Affording clients the ability to better understand First Step Act (FSA) credits, programming, and sentence calculations; the Second Chance Act (SCA); applicability of getting into RDAP and NDAP drug-affiliated programs, which may allow for a reduction in sentence; and navigating the Residential Re-entry Centers (RRCs) in the Federal system.
Providing clients the opportunity to learn about diminution of confinement credits, work release programs, and in-patient and out-patient substance abuse programs while serving out a sentence in the State systems.
Being an advocate on the outside that can assist clients while they are in-custody, to be a guide should issues arise with any sentencing computations, halfway house or home confinement placements, and understanding the administrative relief mechanisms and processes within the Bureau of Prisons, as well as the Department of Corrections.
