Sentencing Mitigation Assistance

Offering pre- and post-sentencing services to help educate clients and their families on how best to prepare for a term of incarceration, whether that be at a Federal Correctional Facility or Satellite Camp, or the Department of Corrections in a State Institution.

Navigating Incarceration

Affording clients the ability to better understand First Step Act (FSA) credits, programming, and sentence calculations; the Second Chance Act (SCA); applicability of getting into RDAP and NDAP drug-affiliated programs, which may allow for a reduction in sentence; and navigating the Residential Re-entry Centers (RRCs) in the Federal system.

Providing clients the opportunity to learn about diminution of confinement credits, work release programs, and in-patient and out-patient substance abuse programs while serving out a sentence in the State systems.

Being an advocate on the outside that can assist clients while they are in-custody, to be a guide should issues arise with any sentencing computations, halfway house or home confinement placements, and understanding the administrative relief mechanisms and processes within the Bureau of Prisons, as well as the Department of Corrections.

Maintaining Family Contact

Serving as a point of contact for families as they confront the institutional, logistical, and communicative challenges associated with their family member’s incarceration.
